Is this software good for making hex maps for something such as hex and counter wargame maps? Just curious as I am looking for something and these look great, but I can only use it if it has a hex pattern.
Absolutely. You can either use the dedicated hex style to plop down individual hex symbols for various terrain/features (Best if you need each hex to be a distinct terrain/feature), or just map "regularily" and throw a hex grid on the map (Good if you only need a hex grid, but want the actual map to look more like a cohesive map and not the distinct areas pure hex mapping tends to result in). You can even mix the two. There are also annuals and add-ons that gives more hex mapping options (although they are part of a greater whole, there isn't a pure hex-map addon that is just for that)
