I saw it as more a sketch of the mountain, but I can work on it if you all want me to.

edit: I've been out of the house most of Thursday, and maybe Friday as well.

Slightly fractalized the mountain, but it may not show it very well.

edit: spotted a problem, fixed and uploaded new map.

I could go back in and redraw the mountain using polygon. I did for the above, it used few points to draw it with.

That way I could add in an overhang, blocking the lookout's view of the entrance, as an example.

It works fine as it is.

But that said, I wouldn't object to you improving it either. This will be the "entrance" to your dungeon in the atlas, so any extra effort won't be wasted. But if you are tired of listening to all of us moaning for changes, feel free to call it done :)

Well, I hadn't read your responses... but this is what I did. I redrew the mountain and changed the fill style. Added a few trees and fractalized at 10.

And have to move the one tree downwards.

2nd edit: fixed the hovering tree.

    Nice.

You may want to increase the scaling on the fill style you have used (for the sky and mountain) to reduce the repetition a little.

Thats always been a problem for me.

The mountain was 25' and I changed it to 125'.

Currently on part 3a of the CA155 annual for the rivers. Don't want to overload my computer. I'll get back to this map in a bit. Or however long the river part takes.

The changes are really great Jim. adding the overhang seems good. Remember the two tall trees at the entrance to the ground floor, and the waterfall.

This is amazing Jim. I love, love, love the side view of the map. You even put trees on the sides of the mountain!!! It really clarifies the layout of the dungeon. Bravo!

Hahaha. They are like the trees beside the Doors of Moria, even with the lake below, and an additional waterfall from a small stream perhaps running through the main level, or beside it, coming out only near the entrance, outside the Doors. (which shouldn't require any alteration to your maps)

    Oh good.

Okay. I was gaming in EQ II, and got my power steering pump fixed. Mostly handed tools to my relative, but thats done.

I'll try and work on the verbiage tomorrow and Monday.

    And Thanks Quenten.

Preliminary, please let me know what you think.

The lake is quiet, except when birds grab up a fish.
The winds call through the trees, 'Dwarves where are you ?",
    but there is no answer.

No dwarf drums of war, nor of dance, echo in these halls,
all is quiet, except the stir of dead leaves,
in the lookout and entrance halls.

    No more stately Official marches,
Feasts of wild boar are no more.

    Small and large creatures,
wander the halls once lit by lanterns of gold.

The lights of happiness and warriors,
are gone from these Halls of Rorial,
the kites and buzzards are gone,
no more pickings left for them to eat.

    Silence reigns here,
    all is lost.

The waterfall and the Two Trees,
    listen from time to time,
for the hunting horns of the Dwarves,
    but those are silent,
    broken during the attacks.

A small group of elves came by,
    years later,
to see why trade had stopped,
all they found was broken shields,
    broken weapons,
    and skeletons of the defenders,
they placed a monument to the fallen,
but something evil tore it down.

The elves have not returned in this direction,
    for several years,
    songs were sung in rememberance,
    but the Dwarves are gone,
    from the Rorial Halls.

    A magnificent effort, Jim :)

I'm no good at spotting errors on DM maps because I don't play, but I can help you by going through the descriptions for typos. Here are the first.

    Lookout level:

    'ballistas' should be 'ballistae'.

    Level 03:

'preperation' should be 'preparation', and 'worn down' might be better with a hyphen as 'worn-down'.

    Level 02:

Stray 'b' in point 14 in front of the word 'might'. In point 15 'some thing' should be 'something'. In point 17 Amrmory should be armory.

    Gound level:

Point 3 - 'nive' should be (don't know what). 'barracade' should be 'barricade'. 'becomea' should be 'become a'. Point 9 - 'skelton' should be 'skeleton'. point 12 - 'smal lbarricade' should be 'small barricade'. Point 22 - 'preperation' should be 'preparation'. Point 30 - 'barracade' should be 'barricade'. Point 32 -'tloor' should be 'floor'.

    More to follow...

    nive should have been nice.

Here is all of it. Monsen, when do you want me to submit the fcw files and text ? And I remember you want each level's text in separate files.

    Small and large critters,
wander the halls once lit by lanterns of gold.

The lights of happiness and warriors,
are gone from these Halls of Rorial,
the kites and buzzards are gone,
no more pickings left for them to eat.

    Silence reigns here,
    all is lost.

The waterfall and the Two Trees,
    listen from time to time,
for the hunting horns of the Dwarves,
    but those are silent,
    broken during the attacks.

A small group of elves came by,
    years later,
to see why trade had stopped,
all they found was broken shields,
    broken weapons,
    and skeletons of the defenders,
they placed a monument to the fallen,
but something evil tore it down.

The elves have not returned in this direction,
    for several years,
    songs were sung in rememberance,
    but the Dwarves are gone,
    from the Rorial Halls.

    room quantities: 18 + 14 + 18 + 22 + 34 + 29 + 23 + 10 + 16 + 19 + 1 = 204 rooms. Not huge, but not small either.

Yea, one text file per map file makes life so much easier for me when I am integrating things into the atlas.

Thinks look fine to me, but I am working on other stuff right now, so I just skimmed the text quickly. Not sure all those room sizes are really necessary to put in the description though, everything except roof height should be easily deductible from looking at the map anyway. Not worth the work to go through and remove them now though, they don't hurt anything (and maybe you prefer to have them like that?)

You can submit whenever you want, but I won't have time to process it until Sunday earliest, more probably it won't be until next week.

Okay, I'll wait until next week.

I include room sizes due to things like area of effect spells. Some, like fireball, have a volume, so knowing the volume of a room is a good idea. I didn't include the room volumes as I don't know if other referees uses them or not.
