I'll be putting the Rorial Halls over here due to the number of maps involved. Note that the third level down is split into two areas.

Made the balrog cave larger and closer to the lowest rooms/passageways.

edit: this side view is a sketch map. Not necessarily 10' x 10' squares on it.

Top level, Lookout, Part 02 in progress. I didn't want you to be on pins and needles, nor sitting on cacti.

A bit more planning on the part of the dwarves.

Using Tile 75-bg for the floor.

Are those walls across the corridors, or are they corridors on different levels?

Is there a reason why you have put this level as 2 maps, rather than combine as one?

I'm making these dungeons for how I think they will best fit the situation I'm mapping.

I really did think of making the Lookout level 3 maps long, but decided against it.

Here are the two maps for the Lookout level.

Basic scenario for this level is that the ballistae, while aimed at the stairs into the rooms in part 02, cannot protect each other. The dwarves got careless, and started buildingh fires in the lookout room 1, to keep warm. Being high up, these fires could be seen for a long distance. Whereas before, they havd been careful to have no fires visible from outside the walls of their Rorial Halls.

Okay, computer hold together now. Smoothing out, yes !

Just switched from a 21" lcd monitor, to a 40" LED monitor. Found some of my icons just off the screen edge. Settings for it doesn't have a zoom, wide, etc. ability.

Anyway, I can see my maps much clearer as well. Now, off to look at Astronomy Picture of the Day site.

With a new monitor, I have to adjust resolution, etc. because my computer board video chip doesn't seem to support the monitor/tv. Also I have a camping trip coming up, so I will be checking my tent, getting supplies, etc. packing. So my mapping may slow down. The weekend I go car camping, no mapping. I will done with this the last week of May.

If you find any caves when camping, be careful. If they are as dangerous as yours it is better to stay clear.

    Enjoy the trip.

I don't go into caves. And we have black bears but I'll be in a more 'civilized' part of the park. I will be submitting Rorial Halls lookout level soon. So if there are any comments on changes, have at.

Correctly linking and setting up the various levels in the atlas takes a bit of work, so I would appreciate getting all the levels for the completed dungeon in one complete batch, rather than level for level. Makes things a bit simpler for me.

What do you think of small defensible areas between levels of this dungeon ?

Probably 50' x 50' with the stairs in one part of it. Maybe slightly larger, but not to exceed 75' x 75'.

    Anyone can reply.

Not exactly a vacation. I was car camping, walked about 15 to 20 feet to where I put up my tent. Friday was quiet, few campers besides me. The ones there were quiet.

Saturday it got louder. Music, hey Charlie how ya doing ! at the next campsite.

Sunday I help from 7 AM to about 2:50 PM as a ham radio operator at the Cheaha Challenge bicycle race. 6 races in one. We only see, since we are rather far from the start/finish line, the 100 and 124 mile cyclists. Due to a course change, we now see the 84 mile folks.

Over 2,000 cyclists total, but we saw only about 50 to 75 of them.

    Wow!

Maybe next time you could seek a sleepy coastal village someplace where the only cyclists are occasional locals passing by, and the noisiest thing is the dawn chorus. That's my idea of a proper holiday break - time to reflect on things and think - to find inspiration... for more art :)

Now my desktop computer wont boot up when I turn it on... I did trying unplugging it, opening up the case and use canned air on the new bits where dust could gather. No change.

Maybe, but I cannot really get to the power button without dismanteling the thing. I may have to do that.

    The rest areas?

Would that be a general lack of egress when your enemy happens to be on the stairs?
