Sheets & Layers by default

With the importance of using sheets and layers correctly, I actually have two questions. Both questions deal with DD3 specifically. The first is - As you create a map and draw your floors and walls and all the other accroutrements such as pillars, treasure, doors, etc... does DD3 by default put each of these items the appropriate layer (if there is one)? The second and followup question is, if DD3 does not, is there documentation anywhere that could be used as a cheat sheet on what object works best on which layer?

It should do if you are using one of Profantasy's symbols.

When you click on a symbol or a drawing tool, the white bar at the top of the screen changes depending on what you selected. Look for S: and L:

S: (followed by the name of the sheet) tells you the sheet the symbol/drawing tool will use and L: tells you the layer.

The drawtools and most symbols both use pre-defined settings.

They are usually designed to match a wild card - so the default sheet for symbols is usually SYMBOLS*, meaning if you set up a sheet called SYMBOLS MINE, and set it current, it will go on that sheet, otherwise SYMBOLS.
