    I don't know why this is happening. Did I hit a wrong button? I checked the properties for the tool and there was no extra entity that could have caused this. When I started the map this was not happening.

    I don't think so. I hid all the sheets except for the water and it didn't go away. I even changed the sheet it was on and nothing.

    Well I ended up starting a map in the same style and copied everything over from the clipboard. The effect seems to be gone in the new map but that was weird. I would love to know what happened. :)

    You accidentally hit Ctrl+F to toggle frames (the angular outlines around the sea). Hitting Ctrl+F again should remove the frames. Frames show the precise edit points used to create the smooth polygon, which would otherwise be very difficult to find when you're editing the nodes directly.

    Its very useful when editing the course of a river ;)
