Begining with CC3, Whats a newb to do?

So I am new to CC3 and CAD programs in general, now I am not nieve and do not expect to turn out maps tomorrow, but I am curious as to where to start? Of course I did utilize the tutorial that came with the install, but this really just touched on the basics, and while its great for the create a map on the fly, I find I quickly run into situations that the tutorial does not help with (such as fine tuning a coast line, removing a piece from a poly, or creating parallel <nearly identical> coast lines. I am looking now for much more detailed resources. In general I am looking for resources that go indepth and explore what the definition of a poly is, what all those setting are in fractal options, and exactly why and how do I explode a poly? I won't even fathom creating my own symbols at this time. I guess I am looking for a good beginer to intermediate resources to learn and explore the power of this program (and or CADs in general)? Is there a CAD programs for dummy book? Would it be helpful to a CC3 user? Would the CC2 Ultimate Mappers Tome still be useful to a CC3 user?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If you have registered your copy of CC3, there is an excellent resource available for download:

[Admin Comment: Please register your CC3 on the Profantasy registration page, and you'll find the download there].

Now, it is entirely CC2 and not CC3, but aside from Sheet Effects, there is really no difference between CC2 and CC3.

[Edited to remove the direct link. Please point people to the registration area for links like these, that's what it is for. Thanks! :)]
  • Excellent, thanks for the quick response I will certainly look look at it. In addition I looked at your tutorial for loading (inserting) drawn maps into CC3 I think I shall find it very usefull in the future.
