I remember seeing explanations on these two commands somewhere (Anual 2007?), but I can't find any mention of them. Can someone give me a brief tutorial on how they work (CC3)?

Check out the
Shaded Polygon
entry in the CC3 help files- We've added the appropriate documentation for these commands in Patch 7.
