wagon ruts
ok so I tried out the offset command for the first time. took me a few tries before I was able to get a something to duplicate, but I made a line along the center of my track, put it on a sheet to be hidden when finished, and offset a copy of it on each side of it, then changed the properties of the new tracks to be my rut lines.
for the effects on the ruts, I used a very small bevel (and inverted the colors) and a blur. the path itself has an inner edge fade
any improvements for different effects suggested is much welcome

I have not tried it myself, but in my opinion aesthetics are a legitimate reason to keep things simple. I think it looks good and unless multiple ruts look just as good, I would keep it the way it is.
