  I would just use a smooth polygon with a dirt fill. There should be several different dirt fills in the template. Then apply an edge fade effect to it to make it blend in with the terrain below.

  Thank you again, that worked...now I just have to figure out how to delete it....hahaha can't seem to select it when I do the erase

  If you have effects on, try to turn them off. It is often difficult to hit the correct spot on a faded edge. Also make sure it isn't on a frozen layer.
