    Attached is a snippet from one of the fine example maps from the CD3 page. Notice the brown outline where the land meets the river. How was this effect achieved?

    Hard to say at that size, but I'd assume that it's a glow effect, either on the river going outwards, or on the land, going inwards. Given the fact that we're looking at a city map, I'd guess that the river is the more likely of the two, simply because it would be easier to apply it to the layer and not have a similar glow appearing around the edges of the map, as would happen if the glow was placed on the sheet that includes the land (likely Background, given this is a city map).

    That looks like an inside glow effect on the landmass.

    Figured it out, with your help. Turns out it's an outer glow on the river.
