Every command brings me to a select a Layer?

So, im not really sure how to articulate this, so bear with me.....I was TRYING to copy a sheet onto a new sheet and somehow did something to my program. It seems now that every command i try to do, when i click my cursor to the point i either want to erase, move, change properties, whatever, it does not give me the "box", instead it asks me to select a layer?? This even happens when i start a new map. WHAT HAVE I DONE???? And how on earth do i fix it?

Either type SELBYD on the command line, or go to tools -> options -> Select Method -> Dialog or Popup.
This just happened to me and I spent one day trying to figure it out.
