CC3: Symbol Origin

How can I change the origin of a symbol so it is in the middle of the symbol in question? I have tried several times, but somehow it always reverts, so I need to know the order in which I have to do things. I only have one symbol in the catalogue, so I am up for re-drawing it from scratch if necessary, but I would like to know what I am telling the program to do, before I start again.

Thank you.

    1. Open up the symbol catalog as a map file
    2. Symbols -> Symbol Manager...
    3. Find the symbol in the list, select it, hit Edit
    4. Create the drawing windows, then View -> Move Origin
    5. Close the drawing window, say yes to save changes, then hit the save button to save the catalog file itself.
    6. Now try the edited symbol catalog in a map. Remember that if you have used this particular symbol in the map before, the definition will already be in your map, and it will ignore your edits. To fix this, you need to delete (or replace using the symbol manager) all the instances of that particular symbol, then go to the symbol manager and hit Purge. The symbol should now work with it's new origin.
