Vintyri Fill Styles: Free, Final Release, Substantial Changes

We're finally entering a new release phase with the free, open gaming Vintyri (TM) Cartographic Collection for CC3+ and CC3.

Today we released the final Version 4.2 of the Vintyri Fills & Textures with some very substantial changes over the last pre-release version. We strongly urge all who downloaded the pre-release version to download and install the update.

Within very short order, before month's end, we'll be releasing:

1. The final Version 1.1 of Vintyri Symbol Set 2 for CC3+ and CC3. This also contains very substantial changes from the current pre-release edition. We urge anyone who hasn't downloaded yet to wait now for the final version.

2. The first open beta release of Vintyri Symbol Set 2 for CC3+ and CC3.

Today's final release of Version 4.2 of the Vintyri Fills & Textures includes important changes that are the result of user recommendations. The good news is, that the bitmap files are remaining unchanged. That means that those who already installed the pre-release version can update with relatively small downloads. It isn't necessary to download the 72 MB bitmap library again.

The final version does, however, contain completely remade templates based upon a number of user recommendations that perform quite well. The accompanying illustrated and bookmarked installation guide also has been changed substantially to include instructions for the new and improved download and installation system, previously missing instructions for Windows 10 users and additional themes requested by users.

For some this page may be a bit confusing because of the various download options. If you're not certain what to do, check the PDF, which has step-for-step instructions illustrated with screen shots.

Finally, our heartfelt thanks to the users who made the suggestions that led to this update.

  • Some users alerted us yesterday that a few of the ZIP files mentioned above unzipped nothing but empty catalogs. Unfortunately, we were able to duplicate this problem. The ZIP files on our server are 100% OK, and that's what we uploaded. It appears that these files were corrupted either on the way to or upon the German Telekom host server. I uploaded these files again, downloaded them and checked them. They're OK now, but if you got the empty zips, you need to download them again. Fortunately, the 72-MB ZIP wasn't one of the bad files.
