installing CD3 on Win8

I've just bought CD3 and it doesn't work at all.

I've installed CD3 and I've not got the buttons [see below] and I've not been able to install the bitmaps at all. I'm trying to install the CC3+ version now, but am not hopeful because EVERY TIME I install anything I get the error message 75 run-time thing.

What's wrong? I'm installing as Admin, by the way.

There is no reason CD3 shouldn't work under Win 8, I have installed it under that several times. Have you tried re-running the latest update (Update 11 for CC3) after installing CD3?
If that doesn't work, I recommend you contact ProFantasy Tech Support directly, they'll probably be able to help you better with issues like this.

I have, Monsen, but I haven't had any luck.

Do that. They're usually quick to respond (at least weekdays, and remember they are based in Europe) and good at helping out with technical problems.

I had upgraded to 8.1 by the time I put CD3 on this laptop. The patch from 8 to 8.1 did fix a number of problems with Win 8. So I don't kow what effect that could have on your try to install CD3.

I'm on 8.1 - I think! Still trying to get my head around it.

I have Classic Shell installed and set it to go to Desktop when I log in. I don't like the app window.
