WIP : An arabian nights setting
Gathar
Traveler
Hello everybody,
After spending so much time looking at the wonderful maps you are doing, I decided I was going to dare doing one myself...
I'm starting an Arabian Nights campaign, full of jinns and ifrits, and this is the current state of my maps. Many things are missing (most notably the names), and there are parts I'm not so fond of (the dunes in the desert did not turn out very well I think).
Anyway, here it is, and I'm open to any suggestion/criticism.

Comments
But that's a minor niggle. This is good work.
FarsightX3: Yes, all of it comes directly from CC3+, Mike Schley's theme.
Barliman: I see what you mean. I used the "jungle tool" from CC3+ that automatically fills an area with symbols, but with this side effect. I'll try to see what I can do.
Here is a new version of my map (almost final, I think). I mostly added text and made some small improvements such as the one you suggested.
As always, comments are welcome.
The "compass" is in fact a part (the rete) of an astrolabe, found on this web site: http://dutarte.perso.neuf.fr/instruments/astrolabe safavide.htm
Many can be found on oxford museum, at https://www.mhs.ox.ac.uk/astrolabe/catalogue/browseReport/Astrolabe_ID=149.html
Some are really gorgeous... such as for instance https://www.mhs.ox.ac.uk/astrolabe/catalogue/categoryReport/list_size=500.html . I might still change my mind...
The fonts were found on DaFont, and are named Alhambra (the title) and ArabDances (the content).
