Accidental duplication of buttons

I somehow have made duplicate menu bars/buttons, see screenshot, and I don't know how it happened and thus how to remove them. Any advice welcome.

    Click the button with the hammer at the bottom, then uncheck the option for the Simple Toolbar. Note that the arrow in the checbox will indicate where on the screen the toolbar appears, so you may need to click multiple times to turn it off (it cycles from off, through all available positions, then back to off).

    You may wish to move the symbol toolbar to it's default top position as well.
