This started out as an unfinished challenge entry on the cartographers guild. I had a little time today so I've tried a couple of things out on it, some worked and some failed.

Please give me some feedback on what you think?

    Thanks,

    KenG

Wonderful work! I find only the title a bit too dark, it's kinda hard to read.

Very nice little village with a lot of details. Great work!
I agree though with Ralf when it comes to the title.

Really nice. I like the compact, but clean, layout of the village. I especially like the little island under (supporting?) the bridge and the outline along the paths/roads.

Yes, the title was a experiment that went wrong.

Well here is a lighter/ brighter version, but I'm not completely sold on this version either.

I can see it better, but it still kind of blends into the map. Perhaps something with more yellow?

Instead of lightening the whole, perhaps a gentle glow on the Text sheet so that their is a faint white or off-white glow behind the letters. It doesn't have to extend very far. That will provide contrast for the lettering.

The village looks very nice and organic, but one point disturbs me: The right hand side of the map looks quite abrupt, and quite close to the houses. I can't help but wonder if what we see is the whole village, or if it continues off-screen.

Interesting thought Gathar. Maybe it was easier to build the map that way so it would eventually fit on an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper. Good looking map by the way KenG

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep trying to fix the text.

Gather, you are right the edge is a little abrupt. I should add a little more space, on the right side, and maybe a hint of some fields or woods.

Well done - love the paths. I'll have to remember where the chimneys and smoke are for my city.

    Cheers,
