The Hidden Oasis, a fill style study
Hi,
This map is a patchwork of diverse sources.
The outside has been generated by POVRAY, a 3D renderer. The resulting 3000x3000 png file has then been converted in a fill style with a scale of 200x200, the size of the map.
The lighted inner part is a png export of another CC3 file, also converted in a fill style.
The light effects has been done on the external file, the main one doesn't have any, shadows beeing done by regular polygons instead of effects.

Comments
I believe this opens new ways of handling multiple effects with less render time because some of the effects are on an outside map and integrated in the main one by bitmaps or fill styles.
In this case I needed fill styles because the shapes are not rectangular, so when drawing an octogon with the fill style scaled correctly, the corner from the raw bitmap disappear.
In the meantime, you can find a high resolution version here .
