using FT map with Google maps ?

Hi !

Okay. I want to use a custom map with Google maps. I have the output of a Mars orbiter bin file, and I have created a preliminary map of Mars.

Is this going to be a major pain, or is there a way to do it ?

I remember someone out there creating a way for users of CC3, etc. to place a pin on a map to show where we all live.

Thanks for any help.

This is something I have been looking into myself

    Google Maps Overlays
  • Basically what I have is a bmp of the Martian surface, from the FTPro output.

I was thinking of making several locations available for placement of icons.

Or just labelling the map, and setting up a poll type where people could click and select one of the locations that way.

I did notice Google now has a Mars map, but its spherical. Only real problem i see with using their map, is I couldn't add my location to it as they don't actually exist. Might upset Google and the other users of that map.

I have temporarily gone with just making a poll on that web site, with pre-marked areas on the jpg map.

I guess giving you the link to the site, would show you what I have done. It has adverts on it.

I removed the poll. Editing out the link
