I recently picked up Cos 3 and feel that I'm now done tweaking my first ship. Please let me know what you think. It's a small, fast response, ship. Defensive weapons are on the lower deck (WIP), with a crew of 32. I'm really proud that I figured out how to get the wall shadow of the stairwell to cast on the stairs... not all that complicated, but little victories as they say.

Great map! I don't do much with Cosmographer, but this makes me want to start.
    Thanks for sharing.

Excellent stuff! I love the wood paneling in the captain's quarters - nothing like a little luxury in space. :D The curved observation window in the surgery area is a great use of that symbol.

I'd perhaps blur the glow effect of the engines a little more, it looks a little strong at the moment.

Thanks Ralf! I tweaked the engine glow a bit (added a few more sheets to give them character) and put all the furniture symbols on the deck sheet so they're covered by wall shadow, although I'm not sure if I like how that turned out... and may change it back.

Ah, that engine glow is much better, great in fact! How about creating an extra sheet for the furniture symbols (SYMBOLS FURNITURE) and give it its own drop/wall shadow (just a small one)? That way you can move it within the map order where you want it.

    Excellent work!
I'm a little new around here, and i have a question . . . How do you keep the details in you picture so crisp and sharp. Whenever i save an image out of cosmographer, the detail looks terrible. Your image looks tremendous, how do you do it?

You probably need to increase your export resolution. You can do this by clicking the Options button in the save dialog AFTER you have selected an image file type to export.
You may also wish to use PNG images instead of JPEG, as PNG uses lossless compression, and are generally better for map files.

    Hey . . . THANKS a lot Monsen, I'll give it a try!

Here are a few pictures of the cargo/weapons deck... Since there isn't a "Shuttle" .bmp I decided to try and build one. I'm happy that I was able to simulate a view port and an interior for it.
