Hello crazybear I use For the map: DD3 Dungeon metric 22X22 (Groundfloor Grass dry 3 Bitmap - scale 2) For the wall:Stonework cobble (scale 2) For the wooden wall (rampart walk): wood floor oak V and H (but in symbol effect* ) For the windows I cut and Iadd DD3 color -Statues, Temples and Idols - STONE STAB symbol at the good scale. Other symbols DD3 color For the others effects: wall - Symbol* - Floor - download the map
Hey this is excellent. I have a little tip for you. If you zoom into one your walls, you'll notice a few problems with the bevel effect. If a pixel on your fill style happens to match one on the sheets below, then you get a "hole" in the bevel. This is easy to fix.
Hide all the sheets apart from the WALLS sheet. Create a new sheet called WALLS MASK in the sheet list and put it before (above) WALLS in the drawing list. Use Copy to Sheet to make a copy of all the WALLS sheet onto the WALLS MASK sheet. Hide the WALLS sheet. Change the colour of the WALLS MASK sheet to purple (or another colour which won't come up) and the fill style to Solid.
Then the artefacts will go.
I did one other thing, which was to add a white border mask around on the MAP BORDER sheet - I turned off the effects. This is a white polygon which hides any effects (in this case the road) which goes off the border. I've attached my version.
My principal source is CONAN and the HYBORIAN WORLD. I take my inspiration from the capital of the Koth's Kingdom KORSHEMISH. This city is not realy depict in the books of CONAN's adventures. So, I can give free rein to my imagination.
You can see I like technical map certainly because I am an ancien draughtsman.
Next map : ROYAL CHANNEL, the Lock and the Water Mill
The two diagonal symbols at the Alchemist looks a bit bad however, since they appear on top of the walls. I see your normal SYMBOLS sheet is already configured to be below WALLS in the sheet order, but these two symbols appear on the SYMBOLS WALL sheet, which seems to be the wrong sheet for them. Putting them below the WALLS will instead give the illusion that they conform to the form of the walls.
These are simply brilliant, and I love your use of the 3rd-party tokens to enhance the maps. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing, both the images and, especially, your FCWs.
Can I ask, did you use any reference materials to create the channel or locks?
Great Maps (throughout this thread) but I'm particularly amazed by this map of EREB TARNAK. It never even occurred to me to use those overland symbols from the annual for a close up shot of a region. And the subtle blur on the background really makes everything else pop.
These are great Gerard, and I love that you post the FCW's, since these are far more flexible than an image, but may I suggest that you post en exported .png image as well? This will allow people without this annual to see your maps as well. You can easily post an .FCW and an image in the same post by first submitting the post with one of them as an attachment, and then clicking the Edit link, as this will allow you to add a second attachment to the same post.

And now my bridge on the Royal Channel.
I try to draw houses in daub with exposed beams.
I add some free Devin Tokens to create the life.
Without Token, not so fun.
