Finding Import PNGS

Ok this thing really gets me mad. Sometimes it works and most of the time it does not. I put the png in the cc3 symbol maps folder. I import using the symbol manager, and use absolute to path because thats the only thing that seems to work. When I look under the symbol catalog where I put the new symbol, its not there. Why is that? Can anyone give me a step by step on how to find my symbol?

    When you import them, do you actually save them to a symbol catalog afterwards? If not, you won't find the new symbols in any symbol catalog, only in the current map. You should see them by hitting the toggle button above the symbol catalog window, that toggles between using a symbol catalog, and showing the symbols available in the map.
