I'm sure its possible but I don't know how I can create my own Symbol Fills and Line Styles for use in maps.

I have a saved version of the Symbol catalogue but not sure where to go from there to carry out the symbol fill or to decide on/set scaling. As regards the Line Styles I'm completely foxed as to where to start.

Can anyone direct me to a suitable explanation/tutorial?
