Editing curved text

Is there a way to edit text that has been drawn along a curved path? The numeric edit tool doesn't seem to respond to those entities, unlike normal "straight" text.

Reason is I have a map with a lot of labels that I want to offer in both German and English. I copied the German labels to a new layer, but now can't find a way to edit the majority of them. :(

    To be able to arrange it along a curve, the text isn't a single text object, but it is a set of single-character text strings, positioned separately, and grouped together with "group". You can use Edit -> Text -> Edit text, or ungroup. This will let you edit the text, but you will need to edit each letter separately.

    Alright, looks like creating new labels is less work. ;)

    (...wish I had left the paths in instead of deleting them...)

    One thing I've finally learned to do over the years - place all my drawing guides that I don't want in the final map but may need again later on their own Layer and hide that Layer when I'm done with them. :)
