Making a Dry Moat?

I'm trying to build a castle in CD3 surround by a dry moat - essentially a 20' wide ditch. While I can easily draw a 20' line around the castle, I'm struggling with what sheet effects to throw on it to give it a sense of depth.

Any ideas?

  • I would use a bevel - Length 10, Strength 50%, Invert Colors 1 and Fade 0
    a Glow - inside, color black (0,0,0) Strength 1, blur radius 10
    and a Glow - outside, color brown (91,55,26) [use any color similar to your background, if it is grass use something green], Strength 0, blur radius 5.

    The result is attached here. I used a grey line because it was set to default, a brown color gives a better result, play with it a little.

    I've tried tom ake some cliff on a battlemap.[CR]

    I used several fractal polies from black to white with a blur and a texture effect.
